A few years ago I dabbled in the poetry slam scene, competing at the legendary Green Mill (where I once won Second Place!) and other venues. My stuff was a bit irreverent -- as I always warned the audience, "I'm not an artist, I'm an entertainer." These are the best of the best.
The Breakup Song is the first song I ever wrote, complete with music. I performed it (singing and playing guitar solo for the first time ever on stage) in 2003 for Second City Unhinged.
